Privacy Policy
Your family trusts us with sensitive academic information. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and how we protect it.
Last updated: October 13, 2026
1. Information we collect
- College Admissions Assistant is operated by 10X Innovations, LLC ("we", "us"), based in Austin, Texas. The service is offered to families in the United States, and information is stored and processed in the United States, with one exception: our customer relationship management provider stores account contact records (name, email address, account type and plan status) in the European Union. No student information is sent there.
- Account information: your name, email address, and password when you create an account, and billing details processed securely by our payment provider (we never see or store your full card number). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google. We keep a record of your plan, its status and renewal date.
- Student portfolio information you choose to enter: academic history, test scores, activities, awards, career interests, and college preferences.
- People who help with applications: the names and roles of recommenders you add to track letters of recommendation.
- ZIP code, if you search for colleges or programs near you, to find its location.
- Documents you upload: essays, letters of recommendation, and other files you add to your library.
- Conversations with the AI assistant, including the colleges, programs, and tasks you ask it to work on.
- Feedback you send us through the feedback form, along with the page you sent it from.
- Usage information: which public pages are visited, so we can improve the site, and a daily count of how often each AI feature is used on your account, so we can apply usage limits.
- Voice input: if you choose to speak to the assistant, your browser turns speech into text, which may involve the browser maker's speech service. We receive only the text.
- Analytics cookies: we use Google Analytics on our public pages and during sign-up and checkout, which sets a small cookie to tell us how visitors find and move through the site. Analytics is switched off in the member area, so we never send names, essay text, grades, or portfolio contents to analytics. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out and do not load analytics at all. We do not use analytics data for advertising.
2. How we use your information
- To provide the service: powering your dashboard, college workspaces, essay feedback, career roadmap, and assistant conversations.
- To personalize guidance: the assistant uses your portfolio and college list to give relevant advice.
- To communicate with you: account emails, subscription receipts, and service updates.
- To send you product news and tips by email. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing doesn't affect account emails.
- To improve the service: understanding which features help families most.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use student data for advertising.
3. Student privacy
- Accounts are held by adults: a parent or guardian, or a student who is 18 or older. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to create an account, and the service is not intended for children under 13.
- Much of the information stored relates to students, including students under 18. That information is entered by, and controlled by, the parent or guardian who holds the account.
- Student information is visible only within the account that holds it. We do not currently offer public links to a student's portfolio, and we do not make student profiles public or searchable.
- If we learn that information about a child under 13 has been entered, we will delete it. Contact us if you believe this has happened.
4. AI processing
- To provide guidance, relevant portions of your portfolio, essays, and conversations are processed by AI models through our infrastructure providers. These providers process data on our behalf to provide the service. We do not use your content to train AI models.
- The assistant's suggestions are generated guidance, not professional advice, and should be verified against each college's official requirements.
5. How we protect your information
- Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Other users cannot reach your records: database rules restrict each account to its own data. A small number of authorized staff and the systems that run the service can access data when needed to operate, secure, or support it.
- Card details are handled entirely by our payment processor and never touch our servers.
6. Sharing
- We share information only with the service providers that run the platform (hosting, database, email delivery, payment processing, AI processing, customer relationship management for account and support records — your name, email address, account type and plan status, never student information — website analytics from Google on public pages, and a ZIP-code lookup for the nearby-programs search), and only as needed to operate the service.
- Our customer relationship management provider may add publicly available professional information about account holders, such as a job title or professional profile, from its data partners. It never receives student information.
- Payments are sold through Link, a service of Stripe, which acts as the merchant of record and handles your payment details under its own privacy policy.
- We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
- We do not share your information with colleges, and using this service is not reported to any institution.
7. Your choices and rights
- You can view and edit your portfolio, files, and college list at any time from your account.
- You can download a copy of everything you've entered from your Account page.
- You can delete individual documents and records at any time, and delete your whole account from your Account page. Deleting your account also cancels any subscription.
- You can cancel your subscription at any time. After it ends, your data stays in your account, where you can still view, download, or delete it.
- To ask a question about your data or make a privacy request, email support@collegeadmissionsassistant.com.
- You can block or delete analytics cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's free Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser, without affecting your account.
8. Data retention
- We keep your information for as long as your account exists, including after a subscription ends, so it is there if you return. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we must retain records for legal or accounting purposes.
9. Changes to this policy
- If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or with a notice in the app before the change takes effect.
